Geologist | Exploration & Asset Development
Hayden Ross is a geologist with direct involvement in the development of North American unconventional energy assets that were later acquired by major public operators and midstream companies. His work supported development planning and asset maturation ahead of multiple completed transactions.
Ross is actively supporting fundraising and evaluation efforts as a geologist for Reese Energy Ventures in Austin, TX. Additional responsibilities include geologic database buildouts, ArcGIS/Python/SQL-driven spatial and technical analyses, data warehouse implementation, and investor presentation support.
Ross contributed to asset development activities at Encap-backed Ameredev II prior to the 2024 $1.9B acquisition by Matador Resources. The transaction expanded Matador's Delaware Basin footprint through a strategic bolt-on acquisition. Ameredev II was also a JV partner with Pinon Midstream, which later sold to Enterprise for $950MM.
Ross was part of the Ameredev II team that managed Encap-backed Advance Energy Partners during the development of Delaware Basin assets that were acquired by Matador Resources in 2023 for $1.6B. His contributions supported geologic evaluation and development efforts prior to the transaction.
Ross completed his undergraduate studies in geology with a focus on subsurface systems, sedimentology, and applied geoscience. His academic training emphasized quantitative analysis, stratigraphy, and the integration of geologic data with engineering and economic decision-making. Ross was also a member of the Baylor baseball team where he earned significant playing time as a middle infielder.

During his sophomore year, Ross walked onto the university's baseball team, working his way into the starting lineup during his first season with the Bears.
